About Interconnector

Initiated in 1992 by the British Government, Interconnector (UK) Limited (IUK) is at the forefront of flexible and transparent gas transport arrangements in the European internal energy market. Headquartered in London, IUK is one of the United Kingdom’s largest transporters of gas through a pipeline running from Zeebrugge in Belgium to Bacton on the east coast of the England.

Project Background

Due to the nature of their business, Interconnector required a solution for improved risk management processes. The need was for a web-based application to track all risks including safety issues, technical faults and prioritised follow up action. It was essential that the delivered solution was intuitive to use, could be accessed by all stakeholders via the company’s intranet, and provide improved reporting and monitoring.

Our Solution

Cooper Software, Europe’s largest independent provider of products, consulting and support for IFS users, created a detailed specification which incorporated the company’s regulatory system requirements - a customised Oracle database driven, Intranet application which was created using ASP .Net. The final bespoke solutions featured a landing page listing user actions by priority, intuitive Data Capturing screens, Search and Filtering capability enabling users to create powerful queries quickly and easily, an export to Excel facility, detailed audit trail of all actions, an administrator’s control panel to manage Users and Data access levels (Administrators, Auditors, Read Only), as well as a summary report and statistics screen.
